Want to upload nodejs file

I'm trying to develop peer-to-peer video chat with nodeJS. I'd like to know how I could then upload my nodeJS code on server to make it public. What's the difference between uploading a normal html file and html file with a nodeJS code? I'm a newbie at this so each advice will be appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance for instructions.
